Davie Cooper
Position: Winger
Career: 1977-1989

Cooper was born on 25th Feburary 1956 in Hamliton and became an apprentice printer and played for his local team, Hamilton Avondale. Cooper joined Clydebank for a signing fee of only £300 but Coopers skill inspired Clydebank to the 2nd Division title in 1976 which attracted alot of big clubs to his talent such as Arsenal, Aston Villa and Coventry. Cooper, though, was waiting for Rangers to sign him.
He got the oppurtunity to impress Rangers when Clydebank were drawn to play Rangers in the league cup quarter-final in September 1976. Cooper scored Clydebanks third equalizer in the 3-3 draw. After this performance Cooper was signed for £100'000 in June 1977
